Finding a specific jacket for a cheap price is somewhat more difficult than for other items. Rarely do branded jackets such as Fred Perry include a model number. This makes the task of comparing prices near impossible. It's fairly easy for other items, such as a TV with an exact model number, or a DVD or PC Game with a specific title.

But it's rare for a jacket to include such exacting descriptions. For example one retailer may describe the below Fred Perry jacket as a 'funnel neck, waterproof, sailing jacket' and another as a 'blue, straight neck, two frontal pocket jacket'.

For branded jackets

If your after a cheap brand jacket, for example, a denim Levi 'classic slim fitting trucker jacket'. Again tracking down the exact jacket is not as simple as with other items. Your first step will be to either put an exact search into Google for the item. Or you can browse the list to the right of major retailer we have compiled.

One problem with Google is they cannot always index the full database of many retailers. Alot of the descriptions for many jackets are identical, or nearly identical. They will create pages for the exact same jacket in the colour 'black' and 'blue'. Retailers often use the same stock description provided by the manufacturer. Google quite often omits all these pages as duplicate content.

Ebay, and smaller independent retailers usually provide the cheapest prices. But the reliability of the service, and whether the product is genuine and not a fake is a problem. Therefore the safer option is browsing through the major retailers.

For non-branded and store branded jackets

Many major retailers like M&S and Next only sell their own store branded label or non-branded jackets. Other retailers combine all three, with branded, non-branded, and store branded. Generally speaking if your looking for the cheapest available jacket, regardless of quality or appearance, then a non-branded or store branded jacket is the way to go.
